Here’s to 2013

It is 2013. For some reason, people think this year is going be really good… or something (maybe it’s a post-(fail)apocalypse thing). Well, in that spirit, I’m making this post. First, let’s take a look at years past, shall we?

GAHGEESHGAROO! (That should be some type of animal… *strokes imaginary beard*…) I just realized I missed my 2012 blogiversary… which mean I’ve now been blogging 5.5 years………… *turns inside out and then explodes*. FIVE AND A HALF YEARS? It feels closer to three and a half… Ah well, let’s look at what I have to show for my five and a half years.

Posts: Counting this one? 111. A cool number, granted, but…. Really? Only 111??? That’s like… 20 posts per year!

Comments: 345 goodies, (again a cool number) and 3,645 spammies.

Subscribers/Followers: 7ish. Mostly family and friends.

My biggest categories are:

  1. Stories, at 25
  2. Blogging, at 21
  3. Miscellaneous, at 20

So, yeah… That’s all I have to show for the first 5.5 years, but what comes next?

Way Too Many Drafts

So, I realize I haven’t posted anything in a while. So I was trying make a new post and that wasn’t working, so I went to look at my drafts to see if I had anything started that I could finish. And I saw that I had ten drafts.

A couple are just something I put up to play around with, some are things from ages ago, like, 2011 Christmas. One even from early on in 2010. Yup, so just think, if I’d posted all those posts I’d have 112 posts on my blog.

Well, actually not quite, ’cause a couple of them weren’t made to be posted, they were just for me to test stuff in. If I got rid of those…

*minute later*

Okay, so closer to about 109 I think.

Anyway, so this is really a random post about nothing, I grabbed a post titled “. . .” from my drafts folder, and it was blank, so I just renamed it and started typing this in it. So now I only have 9 drafts, yay me.

And why would I write a post about my drafts? Same reason I write most my random stuff: Because I’m braindead and haven’t posted in a while and need something to talk about.

What a great first post for 2012… YAY!!! I’M 13 NOW!!! Like, a month late… Hmm, maybe I’ll just consider this a place holder in case I ever decide to write a special post as a first for 2012…

Nah, I probably just won’t do one.

Anyway, hopefully I’ll post again soon, about something that’s actually interesting… Anyway, bye!!!!

100th Post, Writing, Nano, and Badges

Okay, I’m going to rush-talk cause I have a lotish to talk about. Ooh, lotish, that sounds interesting, LOTISH! XD Lottish is probably how you’d really spell it. Anyway, what I was going talk about:

Joking, I’m not going to rush through it that much. Anyway, so this is my hundredth post. Awesome, huh? Yeah, I feel so…. so…. okay, I got nothing. But I have some cool stuff planned out, sorta. Hundredth = 100th = uhm… I don’t know how else to write it, so useless random point over. Anyway, here’s what’ll (probably) be coming up soon:

Well, it’s November, and most people, at least those who have been reading my blog since around this time last year, can guess at what that means. Besides thanksgiving. FOOOOOOOD. :P, no, I’m talking about *drumroll*:

23 and counting

So, just the other day something happened in the world of bloggers, especially homeschooled ones! Bet you’ve guessed what it is: The 23rd Homeschooled Kids Blog Carnival!

The Homeschooled Kids Carnival

Click image for more information on the Carnival

This time around, if you read far enough you can find the first entry of my “The Pale Warrior” series.

Four years in the . . . er . . . book?

Fours years now that I’ve been on the internet. I’ve enjoyed my time here, and I’m looking forward to the times to come. It’ll be long and hard, and I’ll probably never be very good at keeping up with the posting, but it’ll also be fun. Who knows, maybe I’ll someday end up as popular as my mom’s blog, Let’s Play Math. I doubt that though, because I have a feeling her math blog is easier to find because it’s math related :P.

Still, I’m actually happy to just have a small crowd. It doesn’t make me feel as pressured to work on my stories (though maybe that’s a bad thing), not just my random posts that are mostly related to my life.

Anyway, in honor of this Blogoversary, I’ve decided to post links to most of my fellow bloggers whom I’ve met on the way. If I forget anyone (which is why I said most), feel free to remind me, :P.

Er, isn’t the point of collaborating and collaborators is that they are united? *Shake head* Oh, well.

Anyway, why am I talking about collaborators and collaborating? Because I am one. Yesterday me and Gecko got together a shared blog. It’s call *druuuuuuum roooooooooll* Collaborative Randomness and the idea for it started with my post about dividing by zero (the one right below this ‘un). In fact, we might have a continued story line from that there post on Collaborative Randomness (Also known as: Coll. Rand.).

We created this new blog for two purposes: 1. because we’ve always been curious about the whole shared blogging  thing, and 2. because Gecko is moving to an (apparently squarish [see coll. rand]) state. WAAAH ): WAAH! I NO GET TO SEE HIM NO MORE *sits in corner* Waaaaaaaaaah DDD:::::::

Anyway, now we have a shared blog, and it’s awesome . . . and it’s random . . . and it is

How To Work On Your Blog But Not Get Anything Done 101

Okay, you’re probably wondering, do I have a license to teach this particular subject? Don’t worry, I’m a specialist. I do this a lot, if I even get as far as signing in to my blog. So just read very carefully and learn how it’s done, from a master!

What Usually Happens

Okay, so first off, I normally don’t get as far as even signing in. I probably wouldn’t get as far as the sign in page, if I didn’t have it as a home page. Then again, I usually close it and go to a different home page before it loads. . .  So I usually don’t get as far as the sign in page. However, MY SIM CAN BLOW THINGS UP *sorry, felt strong urge to say that ^.^”*, this is not a lesson on that. This is a lesson on working on your blog, and just not getting anything done.

The steps

  1. Open whatever you use to sign in to your blog.
  2. Sign in.
  3. Either start new post or open up one that you’ve been working on.
  4. Stare at it for a while.
  5. Type a few words and then erase them, realizing they aren’t what you want.
  6. Repeat steps 4-5 a few times.
  7. Realize you really have no idea what you want to say.
  8. Leave your blog (signing off is recommended, but of course you might start by leaving the tab for some reason and getting distracted (see the e.g. below)).
  9. Go to something else (on the computer or elsewhere. e.g. look at YouTube videos and start playing snake, or get obsessed by browsing interesting or cute pictures on flickr, etc.).

Voila. You’ll be a master like me in no time!

Thank you for attending this free crash course on working on your blog without getting anything done! Check back later for other 101 lessons on other subjects, and good day!

Some serious updating

And now, what you’ve all been waiting for, UPDATES!

Sorry, I’ll have to put you on hold

Not you guys!  No, it’s time I got my blog off hold, and onto go. What’s going on hold is my website programming. Why? I’ll tell you why: I need to wait for a book I ordered to come in, so I’m not going work much on making sites until that happens.

So, what am I doing in the meantime? I’m going into game programming =P. Right now I’m trying to learn about making a text game with a Qbasic type of thing.

I have a sort of storyline in mind, but I need to figure out how to do some stuff (like how to have gold, or show an inventory, and what not). That’s all I can really say right now.

Ugh, this blog is drifting

I’m going try and work on my stories more today. Tomorrow might be dedicated to my programming (see above), but I’ll work hard today and try to at least have some story to schedule for tomorrow.

I know that most of my latest posts have been more updatish than storyish, but hang with me, I’m trying get back in gear. It doesn’t help that I’ve taken an interest in drawing. (I actually drew something kinda nice looking, which I’ll try and upload when it’s finished.) And I’m constantly having story ideas.

Oh well, I guess I just need to direct some of those story ideas to my blog. Stories going on hold (meaning I’ll work on them later) are:

The end of Global Warming and The adventures of Panther and Cimorene. I will be concentrating on My winter wonder land for tomorrow’s post.

Grr, I hate the wet

Okay, so we just got over a cold spell over here, and it was starting to warm up, AND THEN THE BLASTED RAIN HAD TO COME! I’ve been trying to plan a sleepover with a couple friends of mine, and I was waiting for the weather to warm up enough for us to go riding.

First it was too cold to go riding, now it’s too wet and muddy to go riding! Plus, if spring really is rolling around, we tend to get flooded about then, flooding = wet = muddy = no riding.

Get my drift? GO AWAY YOU RAIN !

Well, that’s all I got now, until next time! (Note, this is not an edited post. I wanted to get it out today, so I don’t really have time to get it edited. I’ll try and get it edited soon!)
